Amber Martin

A native to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Ms. Martin began her training at the age of three with Pittsburgh Performing Arts Theater and Pittsburgh Ballet Theater. She was accepted into many summer intensive programs with scholarships; a few of which included American Ballet Theater, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and Chautauqua Ballet. Ms. Martin received a scholarship at the age of 16 to begin her collegiate career early. Graduating with a B.A. in Dance and a Minor in Art Therapy from Mercyhurst University, she went on to perform with SoMarDance Works and Lake Erie Ballet. Ms. Martin moved to Philadelphia where she had the opportunity to dance with Philadanco and D2 under the direction of Joan Myers Brown and Donald Lungsford. With passion rooted in classical and contemporary ballet she began her next chapter with Koresh Dance Company directed by Roni Koresh and Melissa Rector. During her time with Koresh, she also studied at The Rock School with Eva Greiner Szabo and Andrew Parker. With an acceptance as an apprentice to The Pennsylvania Ballet, Ms. Martin returned to Pittsburgh to perform with Texture Contemporary Ballet.

Teaching throughout the Pittsburgh area, West Virginia and Ohio with a Vaganova syllabus in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Variations, Horton and Contemporary. She now begins her tenth year teaching at Point Park University as an Adjunct Professor and third year with Wexford Dance Academy. Ms. Martin continues to educate herself in the quality of instruction and presentation of all dance forms. She takes great pride in her students and their accomplishments.
